Senior Advisor, Land Tenure & Urban Planning
Dr. Moriarty-Lempke has over 20 years experience in international development, specializing in land tenure, property rights, and urban planning processes with a focus on the rights of women and vulnerable populations. She has worked extensively with USAID and the UN to develop a series of tools to better assess the land tenure and property rights challenges in different contexts, develop appropriate interventions, and evaluate program impact. During her career, she has worked in Afghanistan, China, Haiti, Kenya, Liberia, Russia, Sri Lanka, and Ukraine.
In addition to her role with GRI, Dr. Moriarty-Lempke serves as a visiting lecturer at Duke University’s Program in International Development Policy, where she teaches courses related to land and conflict.
Dr. Moriarty-Lempke earned her PhD and MSc in Regional Planning at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her BA at the University of Vermont.
